Op 23 September 2008 het President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad van Iran die 63ste jaarlikse sitting van die VN se Algemene Vergadering in New York toegespreek. Die volgende is uittreksels uit die amptelik vertaalde Engelse weergawe van sy toespraak:
“In the last three years, I have talked to you about great hopes in the bright future of human society, and some solutions for achieving sustainable peace and expanding love, compassion, and cooperation. I have also talked about unjust systems governing the world; pressures exerted by some powers seeking to trample the rights of other nations, oppression imposed on the majority of the global community, especially on the people of Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon, Africa, Latin America, and Asia …
Friends and Colleagues, let’s look at the situation of the world today: Iraq was attacked under the false pretext of uncovering weapons of mass destruction and overthrowing a dictator. The dictator is toppled and WMDs are not uncovered. A democratic government is established by the votes of the people but, after 6 years, the occupiers are still there. They insist on imposing colonial agreements on the people of Iraq by keeping them under Chapter 7 of the UN Charter. Millions of people have been killed or displaced, and the occupiers, without a sense of shame, are still seeking to solidify their position in the political geography of the region and to dominate oil resources. They have no respect for the people of Iraq and disregard any dignity, rights or status for them. The UN is not capable enough to solve the problems and to remove aggression, occupation and imposition.
In Palestine, 60 years of carnage and invasion is still ongoing at the hands of some criminal and occupying Zionists. They have forged a regime through collecting people from various parts of the world and bringing them to other people’s land by displacing, detaining, and killing the true owners of that land. With advance notice, they invade, assassinate, and maintain food and medicine blockades, while some hegemonic and bullying powers support them. The Security Council cannot do anything and sometimes, under pressure from a few bullying powers, even paves the way for supporting these Zionist murderers. It is natural that some UN resolutions that have addressed the plight of the Palestinian people have been relegated to the archives unnoticed.
In Afghanistan, production of narcotics has multiplied since the presence of NATO forces. Domestic conflicts continue. Terrorism is spreading. And innocent people are bombarded on a daily basis in streets, markets, schools and wedding ceremonies. The people of Afghanistan are the victims of the willingness of NATO member states to dominate the regions surrounding India, China, and South Asia. The Security Council cannot do anything about it because some of these NATO members also happen to be the major decision makers in the Security Council.
In Africa, efforts are made to reestablish the relationships of the colonial era. By starting civil wars in large countries including Sudan, disintegration of those countries is planned in order to serve the interests of some corrupt powers. In case there is a national resistance, the leaders of the resistance are put under pressure by legal mechanisms created by the very same powers.
In Latin America, people find their security, national interests and cultures to be seriously endangered by the menacing shadow of alien domineering governments, and even by the embassies of some empires.
The lives, properties and rights of the people of Georgia and Ossetia and Abkhazia are victims of the tendencies and provocations of NATO and certain western powers, and the underhanded actions of the Zionists.
The never-ending arms race and the proliferation and stockpiling of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction and the threats to use them, and the establishment of missile defense systems, have made the situation unstable.
With regard to Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, despite the inalienable right of all nations including the Iranian nation, in producing nuclear fuel for peaceful purposes, and despite such facts as the transparency of all Iranian activities and our country’s full cooperation with the inspectors of the IAEA and the Agency’s repeated confirmation of the fact that Iran’s activities are peaceful, a few bullying powers have sought to put hurdles in the way of the peaceful nuclear activities of the Iranian nation by exerting political and economic pressures against Iran, and also through threatening and pressuring the IAEA. These are the same powers that produce new generations of lethal nuclear arms and possess stockpiles of nuclear weapons that no international organization is monitoring; and, the tragedies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were perpetrated by one of them.
Indeed, they are not against weapons, but they oppose other nations’ progress, and tend to monopolize technologies and to use those monopolies in order to impose their will on other nations. But it is very natural that the great Iranian people, with their trust in God, and with determination and steadfastness and with the support of its friends, will resist the bullying and has defended and will continue to defend its rights. The Iranian nation is for dialogue. But it has not accepted and will not accept illegal demands. The time has come for the IAEA to present a clear report to the international community on its monitoring of the disarmament of these nuclear powers and their nuclear activities, and for a disarmament committee to be established by independent states to monitor the disarmament of these nuclear powers.
The theories of development that are in line with the hegemonic system and not in accordance with the true needs of humankind and human societies, have turned into repetitive and bland tools for assimilation of economies, expanding hegemonic domination, destroying the environment and destroying the social solidarity of nations. There is no end in sight to this. Poverty, hunger and deprivation are hurting more than one billion of the world's population and have dashed their hopes for a decent life.
The dignity, integrity and rights of the American and European people are being played with by a small but deceitful number of people called Zionists. Although they are a miniscule minority, they have been dominating an important portion of the financial and monetary centers as well as the political decision-making centers of some European countries and the US in a deceitful, complex and furtive manner. It is deeply disastrous to witness that some presidential or premiere nominees in some big countries have to visit these people, take part in their gatherings, swear their allegiance and commitment to their interests in order to attain financial or media support.
This means that the great people of America and various nations of Europe need to obey the demands and wishes of a small number of acquisitive and invasive people. These nations are spending their dignity and resources on the crimes and occupations and the threats of the Zionist network against their will …
With the grace of God Almighty a hopeful trend is flourishing in the heart and soul of human societies. The universal eagerness for justice, purity, and love for others, monotheism and the quest for perfection is clearly and increasingly on the rise. A universal resistance against the acquisitiveness, aggression and selfishness of the bullying powers is being formed. Today, the bullying powers' thoughts, practices and strategies are rejected by nations and governments, and all are seeking to establish new human relations based on justice with a view to attain prosperity, perfection, security, and sustainable welfare. Otherwise, God's hand of power will emerge from the sleeve of oppressed nations and will make your life difficult, and will put an end to your hegemony.

Dit was ‘n buitengewone toespraak vir ‘n staatshoof wat die VN se Algemene Vergadering toespreek, en ‘n mens sou nooit verwag het om so-iets van hierdie forum af te hoor nie. Ahmadinejad is egter berug vir die feit dat hy die Islamitiese eskatologie van die Sjiďete by elke geleentheid bevorder, en hierdie was die tweede keer dat hy dit by ‘n sitting van die VN doen. In die toekomstige scenario wat hy voorhou, word Israel (die Sioniste) as ‘n groep kriminele beskryf wat die Palestyne se land onwettig beset. Israel se belangrikste bondgenoot, die VSA, word as ‘n onderdrukkende, magshonger supermoondheid beskryf wat nie die vryheid van ander lande respekteer nie, maar hulle na willekeur inval, intimideer en oorheers. Hy herhaal dikwels sy bewering dat ‘n klein groepie Sioniste die internasionale finansiële węreld oorheers en ook druk op leidende regerings uitoefen om hulle bose oorheersingsbeleid oral in die węreld toe te pas.
In die toekomstige bedeling wat deur Ahmadinejad in die vooruitsig gestel word, sal die węreld onder die regverdige regering wees van die Sjiďtiese Imam Mahdi wat deur Jesus Christus bygestaan sal word. Die Jesus wat deur hom bevorder word, is nie die Jesus van die Bybel wat God se Seun is en aan ‘n kruis gesterf het om vir die sonde van die verlore mensdom versoening te doen nie. Die Jesus van die Koran is niks meer as ‘n menslike profeet en geestelike “broeder” van Mohammed nie. Hulle verwag dat hy spoedig as een van die toekomstige leiers sal terugkeer om die hele węreld in samewerking met die Mahdi te Islamiseer. Ons sal die basiese leerstellings van Islam, en veral ook die Sjiďtiese eskatologie, goed moet verstaan as ons hierdie vreemde kombinasie wil begryp van twee “profete” wat uit verskillende en totaal onversoenbare godsdienste kom.
Die Sjiďete het ‘n sterk verwagting na die koms van die 12de Imam as węreldmessias. Die leier van Iran, president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, wat gedreig het om Israel van die węreldkaart uit te wis, het die rol as wegbereider vir die komende Imam aanvaar. Tony Pearce (Light for the Last Days, Des. 2005), sę die volgende oor hierdie diktator: “Ahmadinejad sę die gety van die Islamitiese revolusie sal spoedig oor die hele węreld spoel. Hy glo die węreld stuur af op ‘n botsing van beskawings waarin Islam die enigste eerbare alternatief vir Westerse oorheersing is. Hy is daarvan oortuig dat Islam kan en sál wen. Daar is niks in die węreld wat meer gevaarlik is as ‘n godsdienstige fanatikus wat daarna streef om sy idees oor geregtigheid deur geweld op ander af te dwing nie. ‘n Deel van Ahmadinejad se oortuigings spruit voort uit sy geloof in die tweede koms van die 12de Imam. Volgens die Sjiďtiese weergawe van Islam het die 12de afstammeling van Mohammed, wat as die 12de Imam of die Mahdi bekend staan, in die jaar 941, meer as ‘n duisend jaar gelede, verdwyn en homself verborge gehou. Die Sjiďete glo hy sal terugkom wanneer die węreld vol onderdrukking en tirannie is. Hulle glo dat hy homself in die put Jamkaran in Iran skuilhou. Moslems onderneem pelgrimstogte na dié put en gooi geskrewe versoeke daarin in die hoop dat die Imam dit sal lees en tot hulle hulp sal kom.”
Iran speel ‘n groot rol om die weg vir die verskyning van die Sjiďtiese Imam Mahdi voor te berei. Volgens die webblad van die Islamitiese Republiek van Iran se Uitsaaikorporasie sal die Mahdi binnekort sy triomfantelike verskyning by die Ka’aba in Mekka maak. Hy sal dadelik ‘n weermag op die been bring en Islam se vyande in ‘n reeks apokaliptiese veldslae vernietig. Een van sy heel grootste oorwinnings sal teen die Sionistiese vyand en sy bondgenote in Jerusalem wees.
Die Imam sal tot in Irak optrek en sy hoofkwartier in Kufa inrig, wat naby Babilon is. Die webblad berig ook dat die profeet Jesus, die seun van Maria, saam met die Mahdi sal verskyn en met hom sal saamwerk om onderdrukking in die węreld uit te roei en geregtigheid te laat seëvier. Daaglikse gebede word in Iran opgesę dat Allah die koms van die Mahdi sal verhaas.
Iran is ook besig om homself tot die tande toe te bewapen, want hulle wil ‘n groot rol speel in die vorming van die Mahdi se leër waarmee hy al sy vyande wil onderwerp. Iran, met sy bevolking van 70 miljoen, het ‘n groot Islamitiese Revolusionęre Wag wat baie goed opgelei is en oor moderne wapentuig beskik. Dit is ‘n spesiale eenheid bo en behalwe die land se weermag. Met hulle gevorderde missiele kan hulle presisie aanvalle doen en feitlik enige teiken in die Midde-Ooste vernietig. Hierdie eenheid sal tot die Imam Mahdi se beskikking gestel word om sy oorloë te voer.
Soennie Moslems het ‘n soortgelyke siening oor die rol wat die Islamitiese Jesus sal speel. Hulle aanvaar egter nie die Sjiďtiese Imam nie omdat hy lid is van ‘n ander afkomslyn van Mohammed as die een wat deur hulle erken word. In ‘n propagandistiese boekie, Jesus is coming (gedruk deur Dar Al-Furqan in Riyadh, Saoedi-Arabië), verwerp A.H. Jacob die Bybel as die onfeilbare Woord van God: “Die Bybel is verdraai, verander en nie meer die Boek van God nie...” (bl. 22). Alle beskouings oor Jesus en die Antichris word gevolglik op die Koran gebaseer. Moslems beskou nie vir Jesus as God of die Seun van God nie (bl. 20,21) en verwerp ook die Bybelse weergawe van sy kruisiging: “Die Koran leer dat Jesus Christus nie gekruisig of deur die Jode doodgemaak is nie” (bl. 25). Volgens dié lering is iemand anders in Jesus se plek en onder sy naam gekruisig. Die volgende stellings word ook in hierdie boekie gemaak:
· “God se Boodskapper, Mohammed, het gesę dat Jesus, die seun van Maria, binnekort na ons mense (die Moslems) sal neerdaal. Hy sal die mensdom op ‘n regverdige wyse deur die wet van die Koran en die Soenna oordeel en regeer. Hy sal die kruis verbreek en ook die verkoop en eet van varkvleis verbied” (bl. 15).
· “Jesus sal as ‘n volgeling van God se laaste Boodskapper, Mohammed, terugkeer om die ware godsdiens, naamlik Islam, te laat herleef ... Hy kom terug om die węreld in geregtigheid deur God se finale openbaring aan die mensdom in die heilige Koran te regeer, wat in ooreenstemming met die godsdienstige tradisies van die profeet Mohammed sal wees. Hy sal die mensdom leer om God binne die verband van Islamitiese monoteďsme te dien – om Hom alleen te aanbid, in die voetspore van sy Boodskapper Mohammed te volg, en mense teen die ewige gevolge van politeďsme (die aanbidding van baie gode) te waarsku” (bl. 17,18).
· Jesus sal die valse leerstellings vernietig wat in sy naam verkondig word, soos bv. dat daar ‘n drie-enige God is, wat ‘n politeďstiese geloof is. Hy sal die feit beklemtoon dat God Een is, ‘n absolute eenheid en nie ‘n saamgestelde eenheid nie. Jesus sal Homself nie in ‘n vader-seun-verhouding teenoor God stel nie. Hy sal eerder sy verhouding teenoor God as ‘n meester-slaaf-verhouding sien ... Jesus sal ontken dat hy enige van God se attribute het. Hy het nooit daarop aanspraak gemaak dat Hy God is en ook nooit na homself as die seun van God verwys nie. Hy was net ‘n profeet en ‘n dankbare slaaf van God” (bl. 20,21).
· “Tydens sy wederkoms sal hy verklaar dat hy ‘n slaaf van God is en ‘n volgeling van sy broeder, Profeet Mohammed, wat die laaste Boodskapper van God is. Jesus sal gebede op die regte manier opsę soos wat die Moslems dit doen, die armes help, gedurende die maand Ramadan vas, die Hajj-pelgrimstog na Mekka onderneem, en die Umrah onderhou” (bl. 23). “Hy sal die eet van varkvleis verbied en alle varke laat doodmaak” (bl. 27).
· “Jesus kom terug om die valse aanspraak dat die Jode Hom doodgemaak het, te weerlę, asook die oningeligte Christene wat hierdie Jode glo. Hy sal teen die Jode veg en die valse messias doodmaak. Die Jode sal die soldate en volgelinge van die valse messias wees. Tydens sy bewind sal die Jode ‘n baie sterk regering hę, maar net totdat Jesus Christus, die seun van Maria, neerdaal. Hy sal dan die valse messias opspoor en doodmaak. Daarna sal Jesus en sy Moslem-bondgenote teen die Jode veg totdat die oorblywendes van hulle tussen die klippe sal wegkruip ... Hy sal ook die Christene doodmaak wat ‘n verering vir die kruis het. Wanneer beide hierdie groepe oorwin en onderwerp is, en die aarde van politeďsme en ongeloof gereinig is, sal daar vrede en harmonie tussen alle mense op aarde wees” (bl. 24).
Ahmadinejad en ander Moslem-sektes verkondig die vestiging van ‘n antichristelike węreld wat 100% deur Islam beheer sal word. Alle ander gelowe, veral die Christendom en Judaďsme, word sterk veroordeel as valse, politeďstiese godsdienste wat bestem is om deur die magte van die Mahdi ontwortel en vernietig te word. Volgens hulle sal daar dan eers onderlinge respek en harmonie tussen die nasies wees. Hulle hou vol dat Islam die enigste ware godsdiens is wat aan die węreld ‘n geloof en morele waardes bied wat die potensiaal het om die ontwykende droom van węreldwye vrede en geregtigheid te verwesenlik.
Uit ‘n Bybelse oogpunt is dit duidelik dat Islam ‘n groot rol speel om die węreld op die koms van die Antichris voor te berei. Hulle sal hierdie toekomstige bedrieër wat homself as die Christus aan Christene, die Imam Mahdi aan Moslems, Maitreya Boeddha aan Boeddhiste, en Krishna aan die Hindoes sal bied, volkome aanvaar. Onder sy heerskappy sal die węreld nie ware en blywende vrede ervaar nie – slegs ‘n kort tyd van valse vrede gedurende die eerste helfte van die verdrukking. Daarna sal die misleide nasies hulleself op ‘n koers van selfvernietiging begewe wat op die slag van Armageddon sal uitloop wanneer die ware Christus na Jerusalem sal terugkom om sy vyande te oordeel, die oorblyfsel van Israel te red, en sy duisendjarige ryk van vrede en geregtigheid op aarde te vestig.
